In now erased tweets, former wrestler Hulk Hogan called the Hurricane Irma survivors, who are griping about the loss of water and power “crybabies.”
On Thursday, he stated: “No water, no power, crybabies, everyone’s complaining, these people have no clue how bad it could be. Praying for those that got hit hard, lost homes, lives, businesses, lost everything, thank you God for helping those with divine highly blessings, God speed only love.”
His tweets started a firestorm on Twitter, with many scrutinizing Hogan. While still an overwhelming big name in the wrestling circuit, the star came back to notoriety a couple of years prior when he successfully bankcrupted the news site Gawker.
He quickly removed the tweets, but The Washington Post noticed them before they were erased.
